About Us
Stonescape Artist Christopher Layman combines the best of both ancient and modern stoneworking techniques to create timeless beauty with each commission he accepts. With a deep respect for the stones and an ear for their voices, Chris brings decades of skill and artistry to bear on walls, walkways, patios and ponds. Landscape elements and Sacred Spaces are a specialty.
Chris quarries much of his own stone and enjoys incorporating local material into his work. He believes each stone has its perfect place in the scheme of a structure, and works in concert with the elemental forces to ensure the integrity and aesthetics, from foundation to capping stones, of each project he takes on. Having spent years mastering the age-old technique of dry-laying stone, Chris uses no mortar in his work.
